Bailey Brewing Co.
Building One Bailey Brewing Co. Brand Across Distinct Destinations
Sector
Following the success of its flagship Swan Valley brewery and hospitality venue, Bailey Brewing Co. expanded its footprint in 2024 through the acquisition of a second venue in Dunsborough.
The opportunity created a pressing brand architecture challenge. Bailey Brewing Co. had already built strong recognition around its existing identity, but the Dunsborough venue operated in a distinctly different market and physical environment. Simply replicating the Swan Valley brand risked overlooking the character of the new location, while creating an entirely independent identity risked fragmenting the Bailey Brewing Co. brand as the business expanded.
Gilligan Group was engaged to establish how the brand could evolve to support multiple locations; retaining the equity and recognisability of Bailey Brewing Co. while giving each venue the flexibility to develop its own sense of place and appeal to its local audience. The work additionally needed to establish a scalable, repeatable platform for future venues/growth.
Gilligan Group commenced with demographic and market immersion across the Dunsborough region, including peer benchmarking and analysis of comparable hospitality venues. This work informed the value proposition for the new venue and established the strategic foundation for how Dunsborough should sit within the broader Bailey Brewing Co. brand.
Rather than creating a separate brand, Gilligan Group was then able to devise a connected brand system.
The existing Bailey Brewing Co. identity was reviewed and refined to create greater flexibility across multiple locations. Location-specific logo variants were developed for Swan Valley and Dunsborough, supported by an expanded visual language that allowed each venue to retain the unmistakable Bailey Brewing Co. identity while expressing its own character.
For Dunsborough, this included a distinct colour palette, textures, typography and applications informed by the coastal setting and local market. The resulting brand system demonstrated how the identity could translate consistently across signage, venue presentation, menus, merchandise, product applications and marketing collateral.
Gilligan Group was subsequently engaged to carry this architecture into the digital environment.
Benchmarking of comparable multi-location hospitality businesses favoured the development of a single integrated website rather than separate venue platforms. This digital approach brought Swan Valley and Dunsborough together under one Bailey Brewing Co. ecosystem, while allowing users to clearly navigate the individual venues, bookings, events and location-specific content.
Importantly, the architecture was designed with scalability in mind, allowing additional venues and future growth ventures to be incorporated without rebuilding the digital brand from the ground up.
Bailey Brewing Co. emerged with a more flexible and commercially scalable brand architecture.
The approach protected the equity of the established Bailey Brewing Co. identity while enabling Dunsborough to develop a distinctive market presence reflective of its location and audience.
Rather than operating as two disconnected brands, Swan Valley and Dunsborough became individual expressions of one overarching brand — connected through common identity, values and digital infrastructure, but differentiated where local relevance mattered.
Most importantly, the work established a framework capable of accommodating future locations, products and commercial opportunities without diluting the Bailey Brewing Co. masterbrand.
