PRM
Raising the brand profile of a WA rail construction and maintenance business
Services delivered
Sector
PRM has established itself as a trusted provider of rail infrastructure and maintenance services across Australia’s heavy haul networks.
Following its acquisition by the Salcef Group of Companies in 2025, the business was presented with an opportunity to leverage global expertise, proven rail technologies, and expanded capabilities to pursue larger and more diverse project opportunities throughout Australia.
While PRM’s operational capabilities have evolved significantly, its market positioning remains closely linked to its Pilbara origins.
With these factors in mind, PRM engaged Gilligan Group to develop a marketing and communications strategy aimed at supporting future growth and articulating the value of the partnership between PRM and Salcef to key stakeholders.
We facilitated a strategic workshop with both PRM and Salcet’s leadership teams to gain a clearer understanding of the organisations growth objectives, market opportunities, and competitive advantages.
The workshop centred on a key challenge: positioning PRM for opportunities beyond its traditional markets while preserving the credibility and reputation it has established in the resource sector.
Through this workshop, we developed a strategic messaging framework focused on PRM’s distinctive combination of Australian rail expertise and Salcef’s international capabilities, technology, and experience.
This strategy informed a wider communications and brand rollout, including a brand integration strategy, marketing collateral, corporate communications materials, and a refreshed go-to-market approach through an updated website, all while managing key stakeholder touchpoints.
The resulting messaging framework has provided PRM with a clear and consistent market position that aligns with its expanded capabilities and long-term growth objectives.
By establishing a stronger connection between the organisation’s local expertise and its global backing, the framework enables PRM to engage with new stakeholders, support business development activities, and pursue opportunities across a wider range of rail infrastructure projects.
Currently, the messaging platform continues to underpin PRM’s growth strategy as the business introduces established international methodologies, mechanised rail solutions, and global expertise to the Australian market.
“I wouldn’t trust anyone else to tell our story”
PRM has been working with Gilligan Group for over 5 years. Their brand strategy has seen us through some huge transitions, all the way from start-up through to national rail contractor. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to tell our story. Their ability to deep dive into seriously technical stuff and come up with wording that explains it simply and beautifully is incredible.
