The Situation

Pilbara Rail Maintenance (PRM), a fast-growing Australian rail infrastructure and maintenance company, first approached us in 2022 to refine their brand messaging.

Despite achieving Tier One contractor status within five years and being nominated for a 2023 Rio Tinto Supplier Award, PRM’s brand was understated and didn’t fully reflect their success or industry impact.

Our Approach

Our team travelled to PRM’s head office in Karratha to conduct a messaging workshop with key executives and operational staff, immersing ourselves in the business culture and gaining a deep understanding of its target audiences.

This laid the groundwork for our brand strategy, defining messaging around their innovative solutions and holistic service offering that would resonate with prospective clients.

The new tagline, ‘Invested in Ingenuity,’ spoke to PRM’s commitment to innovation in the rail maintenance industry, and captured the essence of their brand.
From there, we developed a suite of marketing materials, including capability statements, flyers, tender documentation and online content, ensuring a cohesive and professional brand image across all platforms.

Results and Outcomes

We have been privileged to develop an ongoing relationship with PRM, acting as their dedicated corporate communications and PR agency. We’ve loved being part of their journey, growing from a dynamic start-up to an industry leader in rail construction and maintenance.

In 2024, we delivered a bold brand refresh that reflected this evolution. This refresh was complemented by a new website that showcased their expanded capabilities and featured real-world success stories and industry innovations. Integrated SEO strategies boosted online visibility, driving increased traffic.

Beyond branding, we produced a consistent schedule of polished social media and marketing materials that supported PRM’s business development efforts. In addition, targeted media strategy secured coverage in The Australian Mining Review and ABC Pilbara, elevating PRM’s profile in the industry.

I just wanted to pause for a moment and acknowledge what we have achieved.

The social media posts have been fabulous – the company pages look so polished and professional now and it more accurately conveys how established and respected the business is.

The messaging is a lot more targeted and consistent. The media features have been a great feather in the cap. We are seeing a lot of interest from clients so the improved marketing seems to be having the desired effect! The marketing is also having a positive impact on our employees and they seem proud to work for the company which is just so fantastic.
