Decarbonology offers a complete solution to simplify the journey to net zero. Despite having proven tools and strategies to share with companies on how to operate sustainably in a low-carbon future – including scientifically measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – their brand wasn’t well established in the Australian market.

With more and more companies committing to becoming net zero or carbon neutral and the price for carbon hitting record highs, Decarbonology’s expertise has never had greater opportunity. Seeking to educate the Australian market on sustainability and emissions reduction, the company engaged Gilligan Group to help take their message to a wider audience.

Our Approach

Gilligan Group was engaged to audit Decarbonology’s online approach, performance and build a content and marketing strategy during a period of growth.

A key objective was to raise brand awareness and increase traffic to its website. To that end, we conducted a digital audit to assess the website’s health, core vitals, technical search performance and barriers to conversion. We also undertook competitor and keyword research to identify relevant high volume keywords and phrases to incorporate into the web copy, as well as new content opportunities to improve SEO.

This in-depth analysis laid the groundwork for a new digital strategy – and led to a complete site structure overhaul designed to guide visitors on how to ‘take action’ including new search friendly content and metadata.

Another critical step was identifying and leveraging Decarbonology’s role in educating business on how to get started with global climate disclosure standards and offset investment opportunities.

Elevating the Company's Profile

To do this we:

  • Collaborated with Decarbonology’s carbon accountants to refine the value proposition and deliver a ‘5-step Climate Action Pathway.’
  • Expanded the online knowledge base to include regular blog pieces and opinions on emerging regulation and topics related to sustainability, climate change and ESG.
  • Boosted the company’s social media profile to increase engagement and drive traffic to the website with a regular posting schedule on Linkedin and custom imagery that built the brand.

The website remains a critical communication tool for Decarbonology as the company looks to expand its client base and attract investors to its native tree planting projects in Western Australia.
