The Situation

Allied Gold Corporation is a privately owned gold producer with five geographically diverse assets across Africa – including three operating mines, an advanced development project and an early-stage exploration project.

Allied Gold engaged Gilligan Group to design its first sustainability report to document the company’s ESG journey during 2021, establishing a strong foundation for meaningful sustainability reporting going forward.

With growing pressure on mining companies to be more transparent about their environmental, social and governance practices, Allied Gold understood the importance of showcasing its commitment to operating to the highest standards to investors and stakeholders. A comprehensive sustainability report was also key in establishing the company’s credibility as an emerging senior gold producer in Africa and its genuine contribution to improving the social wellbeing of the communities it operates in.

Expanding on the original scope, Allied Gold further engaged Gilligan Group to consolidate the design of its corporate materials including letterheads, presentations and policy documents.

With function, communication and aesthetics at the forefront of design conceptualisation and development, our primary focus was centred around the delivery of key sustainability messages in a visually engaging and accessible way.

We applied fundamental design principles to ensure the graphics worked in harmony with the content – organising complex and lengthy information visually and methodically by creating custom infographics, charts and tables to capture the essence of the data and deliver an impactful message.

The result was a sophisticated and visually compelling report which effectively communicated the company’s approach to creating sustainable value for its stakeholders and its progress towards improving ESG performance.

Alongside the delivery of the sustainability report, Gilligan Group also consolidated the design approach for the company’s key corporate materials including letterhead, presentations and policy documentation to ensure continuity across all corporate documents.
